Justin Bieber on Saturday Night Live
While it is older news (he was on Saturday Night Live on April 10th), I can’t help but go back and give my honest opinion about his performance. We all know that watching Justin Bieber is a great experience because he is young and so energetic. On top of that, he knows how important it is to give a good experience—why else would he perform with a broken leg during the New Year’s Eve events?
But, on SNL, I’m not sure if he was as perfect as he normally is. His singing was on par, but for whatever reason, it appeared that the microphones were rubbish. He’d come in and then go out; come in and then go out. Maybe that was a problem in connection to the music playing or whatever, but it was just a poor demonstration of what he was capable of doing. I’ve heard better from him.
What I was disappointed with was his attempt at the rap for “Baby.” I understand that Ludacris is the one that raps that part, but it just seemed like a really weak attempt. And, when he got bored of it, he’d cut out and let someone else handle it. I don’t have very many complaints of Justin Bieber, but what kind of loyal fan would I be if I didn’t offer some honest criticism of him?
Overall, though, I really think that his performance on SNL was exactly what he needed to do. He was trying to promote his new album, My World 2.0, and I think he is doing a fantastic job. The music is consistently playing in the background on my laptop; yes, I know, I’m obsessed. But, he really is a great singer. I’m looking forward to singing other performances he gives on other shows. Maybe his rapping was just a fluke on SNL. Who knows?
